Never mind the traditional elements of earth, air, fire, water, including metal and wood. Lauria (aka Laurianne Fiorentino) composer and award winner songwriter/vocalist, and Michael Kott (cellist) are embarking on a more in depth concert series this summer at the San Miguel Chapel. 

They’ve begun a program exploring the personality of the Periodic Table of Elements with special guests.

The theme enters the quantum realm where each of the 119 elements in the periodic table can be viewed personally: as if each element has qualities that reflect the qualities of a human being. And through that prism of identity, original music (and perhaps a cover or two) explores that elemental facet. Each concert will have a different set list, improvisational interludes with a few repeat songs.

So if you ever wondered, down to the atomic level, what it might be like to reflect on the RUBIDIUM in you (volatile, precise, excitable, unique and rare, specific, highly emotional, silver haired, old soul, incompatible, loner/hermit, clown) Or  HYDROGEN etc come on out to The Oldest Church in the United States on the First Saturdays of the month.

Michael Kott is most internationally known by his cosmic cello accompaniment with Peter Buffet and Taos Puebloan Robert Mirabal.

Lauria, as musical director, will create an improvised bed of sound and song with Jeff Sussman on percussion, while Dean Howell and friends sculpt a life-size rhino head with clay....bringing awareness to the interconnection between humans and the earth.
